Superette Public Open House - Saturday, March 30 11:30am

As many have heard by now, Wellington West will see one of Ottawa's first cannabis retailers opening in April. Superette is located at 1306 Wellington St W. Since the announcement, our office has worked closely with the business owners, the Wellington West BIA, the Wellington Village Community Association and the City to move forward as successfully as possible. Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with Superette, By-law, and the Wellington West BIA to talk about parking, crowds and security. The store is being fit up and expected to open April 1. For the foreseeable weeks once the store opens, they've met my expectations by committing to have a crowd and traffic staffer posted outside the store who will keep any overflow of customers organized away from neighboring businesses, and to keep an active eye on the no-parking zones that are visible. I've also received a commitment from By-law that they'll be very vigilant in the area. 

I am also hosting a public open house for the residents of Warren as well as the wider community, to hear and discuss your concerns further.
