Dear Resident,

The City of Ottawa invites you to a Public Information Session concerning the proposed watermain reconstruction on Richmond Road between Redwood Avenue and Fraser Avenue. Drawings will be on display and staff will be present to provide information and receive comments.

Why:           The objectives of this project are to replace/upgrade an existing watermain that has reached the end of its service life.

What:          Sections of the watermain on Richmond Road between Redwood Avenue and Fraser Avenue are in poor condition, several watermain breaks have been experienced in recent years. These older portions of the watermain are in need of replacement. The City is also working on plans to provide on-street bike lanes on Richmond Road in 2020.

When:         Watermain construction is planned to begin in summer of 2019 with completion in fall 2019. Final asphalt paving will be completed in spring 2020. On-street cycling lanes are being planned for 2020. Plans for the proposed cycling lanes will be completed in summer 2019, details will be added to the City’s webpage for the project:
