Queensway closure upcoming July 2-6

June 23, 2020 - A section of Highway 417 will fully close in both directions from 8 pm on Thursday, July 2 until 6 am on Monday, July 6, resulting in significant traffic impacts. On-ramps between Carling Avenue and Bronson Avenue will also close.

Lane reductions and ramp closures are scheduled to start at 7 pm on Thursday, with the full closure of Highway 417 scheduled to be in place by 8 pm. The ramp from Rochester Street to the 417 West will close at 7 pm on June 30. The closures are required to replace the bridges over the CPR and Trillium Line O-Train tracks.

During the replacement, Orangeville Street will also be fully closed between Rochester Street and Booth Street.

The following detours will be in effect during the closure:

Westbound detour for Highway 417 closure

  • Westbound motorists must exit the highway at Bronson Avenue

  • Continue on Catherine Street and Raymond Street

  • Turn left on Booth Street

  • Turn right on Carling Avenue

  • Turn left to the Highway 417 westbound on-ramp at Carling Avenue

Eastbound detour for Highway 417 closure

  • Eastbound motorists must exit the highway at Carling Avenue

  • Turn left on Bronson Avenue

  • Turn right on Chamberlain Avenue

  • Continue onto Isabella Street

  • Merge left onto the eastbound Highway 417 on-ramp at Metcalfe Street
