Open House: 979 Wellington St W proposed development

We are hosting the second open house for the proposed development at 979 Wellington St W. There have been some changes to the development in the last few weeks, and we would like to bring the updates to the community for further feedback. You can read more about the previous design on our earlier blog post. 

The major updates to the design were as follows:

1) Increased step-backs towards the rear of the building, accomplished by removing 2 units, which creates a 45degree angle from the 4^th storey to the 9^th storey.

2) The metal frame which was previously jutting out of the building on the front, has been pulled back and incorporated into the facade of the building.

3) Additional, complimentary metal framework was applied to the east-facing wall.

4) The patio niche’s for the ground for units have been eliminated, to mitigate building shadowing along Garland St. 

The open house will be on Tuesday, July 4 at Happy Goat Coffee Co (35 Laurel St), from 6:00 to 8:00pm. We hope to see you there to discuss further, but if not feel free to send any feedback to jeff.leiper@ottawa.ca
