Open House #2 - 1960 Scott St (Trailhead Site)

Our office, with the applicant, are hosting a second Open House for the proposed development at 1960 Scott St (Trailhead site) on March 22. The application for the zoning amendment is set to proceed to Planning Committee on March 28, but since there have been some revisions to the Site Plan, we wanted the opportunity to an additional round of feedback and discussion.

The most recently revised plan is attached here, at the bottom as a .PDF and as a .JPF image as well. Some changes have been made from the initial versions which went out to public circulation, as follows:

417 ramp closure at Transportation Committee

Today at the City’s Transportation Committee, we received a presentation from Ministry of Transportation (MTO) officials about their planned closure of the eastbound on-ramp that runs from westbound Carling (behind Westgate Shopping Centre). With its permission, I've posted OFS' most recent news release that describes their capacity to deal with structural collapses.

557 Library vote

On Wednesday, Council voted to accept the Library Board's recommendation to Council that the new central library be built at 557 Wellington – just east of the future Pimisi LRT station. I voted in favour of the Board recommendation.

That decision isn’t one that I made lightly. Public libraries are critical to the success of cities. I have expended some significant resources to have a productive conversation about the Rosemount branch of the Library because of the key contribution they make to our urban fabric.
